Honoring Our Veterans in Sea Isle City

Boy Scout Troop 76 assists with the Memorial Day ceremony each year.

Memorial Day Ceremony

May 26
Sea Isle City invites the community to honor and remember our nation's heroes with Mayor Leonard Desiderio at its annual Memorial Day ceremony at 10am at Veterans Park (JFK Boulevard and Landis Avenue). The mayor will be joined by local and county officials and veterans to honor the fallen during this ceremony that will include speeches and prayers for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Wreaths will also be placed at Memorial Fountain in honor of these men and women. VFW Post 1963 of Sea Isle City will conduct a Memorial Roll Call to honor the deceased. At the conclusion of the ceremony, Boy Scout Troop 76 will lead attendees to the JFK Boulevard beach for a special tribute to honor the nation’s naval deceased. Members of the Sea Isle City Beach Patrol will row floral arrangements beyond the breakers and send them adrift in honor of those who left us too soon. In the event of rain, the ceremony will be moved to the Community Lodge at 300 JFK Blvd. For additional details, please call 609-263-4461, Ext. 1245.

Women Veterans Recognition Day Ceremony

June 12
The City of Sea Isle will proudly host the first annual Women Veterans Recognition Day ceremony to honor the service, courage, and sacrifices of women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. The event will take place from 10-11am at Veterans Park. The program will feature guest speakers, and Quilts of Valor will be presented to women veterans as a heartfelt gesture of gratitude for their dedicated service to our country. This meaningful ceremony coincides with New Jersey’s official Women Veterans Appreciation Day, established in 2019 to recognize the nearly 26,000 women veterans in the state and to raise awareness of their contributions and unique experiences in military service. Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to attend and show their appreciation for the bravery and dedication of these women. For additional details, please call 609-263-4461, Ext. 1245.
