Volunteers are needed to help scour the beaches and the Promenade for trash and debris to get our beaches ready for the season. The event is hosted by Sea Isle City’s Environmental Commission. Volunteers will meet at JFK Boulevard & the Promenade, where they will receive trash bags and data sheets to document their finds before heading out to an assigned location.

Held on the 38th Street beach, the event begins at 7am and features heats for shortboard, longboard, and bodyboard contestants. The entry fee is $25 ($15 extra per added entry), and signups will start at 6am the day of the event.

The Karl J. Boehret Surf Fishing Tournament will take place over Mother’s Day weekend. Sponsored by the Delaware Valley Surf Anglers Association, the event features individual and team tournaments and includes door prizes and awards starting at 12:30pm. Registration is from 5:30-7am, fishing is from 7am-12:30pm. Any updates will be on the organization’s Facebook page, Delaware Valley Surf Anglers.
