Sea Isle City will celebrate America’s 250th birthday with a patriotic drone show at Dealy Field, featuring synchronized aerial imagery and music over the marsh near the kayak launch. The 14-minute performance, part of the “CMC Land of the Free, Celebration 250” grant program, will highlight patriotic themes with a Sea Isle City touch and is best viewed anywhere within Dealy Field.

Bicycle Decorating Contest

Display your decorated bikes, tricycles, wagons, strollers and scooters and compete for prizes during the annual Bicycle Decorating Contest. This free event starts at 10am at Excursion Park (onsite registration begins at 9:45am). Families can choose their favorite decorating themes (sports, princesses, etc.) but because 2026 is our nation’s 250th birthday, you can bet there will be plenty of wonderful red-white-and-blue decorations on display. Prizes will be presented to winners. No motorized bikes or scooters, please!
July 4
Junior Olympics

Girls and boys, ages 3-12, will compete in running, jumping and throwing races by age and gender; and gold, silver, and bronze medals will be presented to winners. The Junior Olympics are sponsored by the city’s recreation office and hosted by volunteers from the Yacht Club of Sea Isle City. Don’t forget sunscreen, hats and bottled water for your young competitors!
Fireworks

As the sun sets, the celebration continues with Sea Isle City’s spectacular Fourth of July fireworks display. Beginning at 9:15pm, fireworks will launch from a barge off 50th Street beach, illuminating the night sky in honor of Independence Day and the nation’s Semi quincentennial. Residents and visitors are invited to gather at Excursion Park and along the beach and Promenade to enjoy the breathtaking show and celebrate 250 years of American history.
July 7
Patriotic Drone Show

Enjoy the second night of the Patriotic Drone Show from a different location! The July 7 show will take place over the ocean near Excursion Park. Attendees can best view the show along the Promenade between 39th & 42nd Street, on a blanket in Excursion Park, or from the beach on either side of the 42nd Street restricted launch area. Due to the current Beach Fill Project, the precise beach that will be used to launch the drones may have to move one block north or one block South, depending on the progress of the beach fill. Captain Thomas P. McCann Mascot School

All future lifeguards are invited to learn from the best during the Captain Thomas P. McCann Mascot School! Boys and girls ages 4-8 will spend two fun-filled mornings with the Sea Isle City Beach Patrol, learning beach and water safety through games, races, and activities.

For Pete’s Sake Cornhole for Cancer

Maryanne Pastry Shoppe hosts its sixth annual Cornhole for Cancer fundraiser in memory of late family member and SIC lifeguard Peter R. Bossow Jr. Registration is required and is now open online. The cost to participate is $70 per team. Join the event and help bring respite to families facing cancer!

McCann Family Women’s Basketball Tournament

The McCann Family Women’s Basketball Tournament will feature a 5-on-5 double elimination format. Open to up to 12 teams with an eight-player roster maximum, the $200 team entry includes a game jersey for each participant, with prizes awarded to the winners. Hosted by the Sea Isle City Division of Recreation.
Sweat & Sculpt by Jac

Sweat & Sculpt by Jac, founded by Sea Isle City local Jacklyn Romano, is a fast-growing women’s fitness and wellness experience focused on movement, connection, and community. Each ticket includes a 45-minute signature mat Pilates class, a custom orange activewear set, goodies, and pre- and post-class vendors and networking experiences.
Captain Thomas P. McCann Mascot School Races

After two days of learning from members of the Sea Isle City Beach Patrol, mascots will put their new skills to the test in a series of fun races, including sprints and relays. These friendly competitions reinforce beach safety lessons while promoting teamwork and good sportsmanship.

Phillies Youth Home Run Derby

Spend the morning batting like the pros during the Phillies Youth Home Run Derby. This event is free for boys and girls ages 7-12. Participants will compete in a batting challenge using an automatic pitching machine, with prizes awarded by gender across four age groups. The top finishers in each division will advance to the regional finals.

Beach Bards Poetry & Prose Reading Series

Beach Bards Poetry & Prose Reading Series features poets and writers sharing original works, followed by an open mic for attendees to share their own writing. Sponsored by the Cape May County Library System and coordinated by local poet Antoinette L. Braca, each event also includes book sales and signings, celebrating and supporting the literary arts in the community. The event is free and open to the public.

Sandy Sprint 5K & Family Walk

The Sandy Sprint is hosted by the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation to spread the word about its mission and raise funds to advance research. The event includes a 5K Run, a 2-mile family fun walk, a survivor ceremony, and more! Onsite registration and pre-packet pickup will take place on Friday, July 17 from 4-6pm. There will be an after-party at the Oar House Pub.
1-Mile Ocean Swim

Challenge yourself in the Atlantic as you test your physical and mental endurance during the 1-Mile Ocean Swim, hosted by the Sea Isle City Beach Patrol. Sign up online at sicbp.com. Pre-registration will close on July 16 at 11pm, but there will be on-site registration from 9-10:30am.
Dollar Dog Day

The VFW Post 1963 Auxiliary will host its 7th Annual Dollar Dog Day from 11am-2pm at the Post. All will enjoy $1 hot dogs, snacks, soft pretzels, and drinks, along with family-friendly activities including face painting, games, live music, a fire truck display, and photo opportunities with giant hot dog props. The event also features a used-book sale and commemorative T-shirts for $15 (while supplies last), with all proceeds benefiting veterans, active-duty military members, and their families.

Lifeguards in Training Program

Open to ages 14-17, the Lifeguards in Training program will run Tuesdays and Thursdays from July 21 through Aug. 6. This hands-on program introduces basic lifesaving skills and rescue techniques, providing an educational and physical foundation for those interested in future beach patrol work. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, participants will learn surf bashing, swimming, running, paddling, and ocean rowing.

He’s making his list and checking it twice! Santa Claus is coming to Sea Isle City for a special Christmas in July celebration, where he’ll meet with children, hear wish lists, and pose for festive photos. Following his visit, stick around for Free Movies Under the Stars where the film “Elf” will be shown on the big screen.

Storm of ’62 Presentation

Join the Sea Isle Museum for a look back at one of the most devastating storms in local history: The Ash Wednesday Storm, also known as the Storm of ’62. Attendees will hear firsthand accounts from two survivors, Pat Haffert and Joe LaRosa, as they share their unforgettable experiences during the storm that reshaped the Jersey Shore. LaRosa will also be selling and signing his two books detailing his personal account of the event.

Bill Liddell Men’s Basketball Tournament

Get ready for fast-paced 5-on-5 competition in this double-elimination tournament hosted by the Sea Isle City Division of Recreation. Each team may have up to eight players on its roster, with a maximum of 12 teams accepted into the tournament. Every registered participant will receive a game jersey, and prizes will be awarded to the winning teams. Sign up online.
Shore Softball Classic

Heyday Athletic will host its annual Shore Softball Classic at Dealy Field. The format will include 10 vs. 10 coed games, with a cost of $375 per team. There will be prizes for the winning team, including long-sleeve championship shirts and a Heyday trophy.

Seize the Wave

Seize the Wave is a one-of-a-kind surf instruction experience created through a partnership between Epilepsy Services of New Jersey and Paul’s Purple Warriors. Limited to 35 registered participants, the event offers guided surf lessons led by the team at Heritage Surf Shop and Tass Home Remodeling. The experience begins with instruction on the beach before participants head into the ocean with experienced surfers.
Lifeguarding History in Sea Isle City

Spend the evening with Tom McCann as he shares the rich history of South Jersey lifeguarding, along with stories from the patrol and his deep passion for the profession. He will also discuss his new book, “The Guards, South Jersey Lifeguarding from Brigantine to Cape May Point.” The evening begins with a meet-and-greet with the author at 7pm followed by a presentation at 8pm. Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or chair.
