Sea Isle City continues to grow with exciting new changes on Landis Avenue. Bella Roots Salon has settled into a larger space just a few blocks from its original home, and Sea Isle Deli is officially open for its very first season. Both spots value the community and offer top-notch service. Whether you are in need of a haircut or hungry for something delicious, these local spots are worth a visit.

Bella Roots Salon has moved, but it’s still in Sea Isle City. Owner Maria McQuillen decided it was time to move to a new location but didn’t stray too far away. Only moving three blocks 4110 Landis Ave., Apt. C, gave the salon room for growth in the future without abandoning the friendly community that had been there since the beginning for Maria and Bella Roots Salon. The unwavering support of her family, friends, and the community was always there, which made staying in Sea Isle nonnegotiable for Maria.
McQuillen had been a stylist for Bella Roots Salon for 10 years before her dreams of owning a salon came true. Shannon O’Rourke was the previous owner and the third generation of her family to own what formerly was known as Salon Shannon Leigh. McQuillen and O’Rourke became close in their years of working together, and O’Rourke didn’t have to look far for a buyer when she decided to sell the salon.
Bella Roots Salon strives to make every client leave feeling better about themselves. The translation of Bella Roots Salon is “Beautiful Family,” which is something McQuillen believes in.
“When people come in, I want them to feel like they're home,” she says.
Alexis Olsen, a stylist who has been working at Bella Roots Salon for six years, explains how she cannot imagine working anywhere else: “It's just very hard to find a group of women that are supportive and uplifting in the community, and they are all of this here and more.”
The success of Bella Roots Salon is no surprise as the talented stylists’ values promote family-like community. Achieving the “Best of the Jersey Shore” 2024 award and now moving to a bigger location, Bella Roots Salon plans to continue its growth in Sea Isle.
Bella Roots Salon hours are currently Sunday 9am-5pm, Monday 10am-6pm, Tuesday 9am-7pm, Wednesday 10am-7pm, Thursday 10am-3pm, and Friday 9am-4pm. It is closed Saturdays.

4911 Landis Ave. | 609-486-5207
Sea Isle Deli is the latest addition to Landis Avenue, founded by longtime friends and business partners with more than 40 years of experience in the restaurant industry. After discovering their location, previously home to a sushi restaurant, Maikel Henin and Theo Dababneh saw an opportunity and went all-in.
Now open for their first summer season, the team has transformed the space into a quintessential deli spot offering hot food and all the classics. Customers can enjoy anything from breakfast sandwiches, macaroni and cheese, loaded fries, wraps, and Henin’s favorite – the wings. The deli also offers convenience store essentials like coffee, snacks, candy, soft drinks, ice cream, and more.
Originally from Egypt and Jordan, the duo brings decades of hospitality experience and a global touch to the deli. “We’re even thinking of adding Mediterranean options like falafel, kofta, and kebabs on the weekends,” says Henin.
With business hours currently running from 10am-10pm on weekdays and 10am-midnight on weekends, Sea Isle Deli is preparing to meet the pace of summer. “It’s only a few months,” Henin says, “so you’ve got to work hard and make the most of it.”
Stop by Sea Isle Deli on your next stroll through town, whether you’re grabbing a wrap, picking up beach-picnic staples, or just checking out Sea Isle’s newest eatery.
