Since this coronavirus pandemic began, we have seen so many businesses, community members and local authorities doing everything they can to help our first responders and anyone else who needed it. It is at the toughest times when the kindest people show up and help out. We ran a story about such thoughtful gestures in the Memorial Day issue of Sea Isle Times, and we couldn’t let this issue go by without a few more thank-yous.

The staff at Ring home security systems was kind enough to donate much-needed masks to the Sea Isle City Police Department. A spokesperson for Ring said, “We are deeply grateful for the work public-service agencies across the country are doing to keep their communities healthy and safe, and we hope this donation helps as they continue to carry out these critical efforts.” The police department had recently announced a partnership with Ring to help solve crimes in the area. All residents, businesses, and organizations that have security cameras in place on their property have been encouraged to sign up for Neighbors by Ring, an app that not only helps the police investigations but also helps the police alert you to important information about crime and safety alerts in the area.

Members of VFW Post 1963 Auxiliary recently delivered 125 handmade face masks, hand sanitizer, sweets and snacks to residents of the Vineland Veterans Home. “We wanted to make sure that our veterans know that we have not forgotten them, and that we are willing to do all we can as an organization to help keep them safe during this pandemic,” said president Patti Lloyd. The hand sanitizer, food, gloves and other personal protection items were donated by VFW Post 1963 members. The face masks were made by local high school students Ellie Kutscher and Lily Beard along with Auxiliary members Ellen Rose, Diane McCool and Karen Haugh.

Thank you for taking care of the members of our close community and reminding us how important it is to lend a hand when someone needs it.
