The blessing, and the asset, have a long shelf life.

Steele is an embedded fixture of this resort, a 50-year member of a beach patrol that is 101 years old. He is by far its longest-running leader, at 35 years, and has spanned more eras than practically anyone on the South Jersey beaches.

We are in the dog days of summer which means it is hot, hot, hot and you probably can’t wait to get into the ocean. Unfortunately, there have been a lot of lifeguard rescues on our beaches so we thought it was a great time to remind everyone of the hidden (and not so hidden) dangers that are out there.
