Days Gone By

In the spirit of the spring season, it’s “just a wee bit of Ireland” … These youngsters were part of the St. Patrick’s Day parade and celebration more than two decades ago, in 2001. According to news reports, the weather was especially cold for the 10th annual parade. Awards were handed out at a post-parade party hosted by the Desiderio family at Kix-McNutley’s, with music provided by Cape Atlantic Police and Fire Irish Bagpipe Brigade. The Desiderio family also provided a free buffet consisting of corned beef, ham, cabbage, Irish potatoes, and soda bread. To see more vintage photos like this, be sure to visit the Sea Isle City Historical Museum. It has lots of interesting artifacts, and shelves and shelves of great old photos of Sea Isle City.
