O’Donnell’s Pour House, which opened in May 1999, was a passion project of Joe Roberts, who at the time owned the adjacent Ocean Drive at 39th Street and Landis Avenue. Roberts had always felt a connection to his Irish heritage and saw an unfilled need in Sea Isle City for a casual yet upscale Irish restaurant and bar. That’s how O’Donnell’s, named for Roberts’ mother’s maiden name, came to be.

Now owned by brothers Ralph and Pat Pasceri with Joe’s cousin Mike Roberts, the O’Donnell legacy lives on. The name of O’Donnell’s outside addition that opened in 2020, Paddy’s Green, is a nod to the Pasceri brothers’ maternal grandfather, Patrick Waugh.

The Pasceri brothers were raised in Pennsylvania’s Bucks County and summered at their grandparents’ house, which was just around the corner from the O’Donnells’. Both started working at the Ocean Drive in their early teens.

Mike Roberts came to Sea Isle to help his cousin run The OD back in 1984 and has been here ever since.

“Simply put, Sea Isle City is home,” Ralph Pasceri says. “One of the best parts is feeling a part of such a great community and knowing so many people. We grew up here and watched our kids grow up here, too.”

The trio own O’Donnell’s Pour House with Paddy’s Green, and The OD with the Sandbar and Grill, keeping them busy all summer. While there are no new projects in the works, they are always open to opportunities.

“We hope that first and most importantly, people have an outstanding food and beverage experience, with great, friendly service,” Ralph Pasceri says. “Add to that a great, upbeat, fun atmosphere and live music out on Paddy’s Green, and all you need to bring is great friends and family to make it the perfect choice for a great time out in Sea Isle City.”

O’Donnell’s is open daily. It’s worth noting that it will stay open in the fall and winter, as will Paddy’s Green if the weather permits.
