While you might be getting ready to pack away your swimwear, tank tops and flip-flops for the season, you may want to hold that thought because Sea Isle City has a fun fall planned with plenty of live entertainment, special events and more to enjoy. A Sea Isle City favorite on the bay recently renovated the adjacent property next to the restaurant to keep the party going through the not-so-offseason at the new beach bar on the bay.

From acoustic tunes to rockin’ party bands, the Oar House Pub is known for its lively entertainment lineup throughout the year. This year, owner Jimmy Bennett and business partner Craig Rankin of CP Rankin opened the LaCosta Beach and Deck Bar at the Oar House Pub when the property next door became available. The duo jumped at the opportunity to purchase the old fishing shack and once more host outdoor entertainment as they had at LaCosta Lounge.

“When we came over, we brought the trade name with us,” says Bennett. “We brought the same feel that LaCosta had at 40th Street and brought it to 42nd Place. We’ve got our Sunday Funday with live music outside and more rock ‘n roll inside. In addition to that, we’ve revamped the menu to more food you can eat and dance with at the same time. It’s so much fun.”

The property was purchased in May and the team quickly got to work on renovations to be open by Memorial Day weekend. The old fishing shack with thousands of feet of netting was converted to a fun and festive beach bar, complete with 10 tons of beach sand, 34 palm trees, portable bars and a stage for the live bands. Plans call for the LaCosta Beach and Deck Bar at the Oar House Pub to be opened throughout the fall.

“People want to be outside,” Bennett says. “We knew that there was a need for a bay bar in Sea Isle City – people want to be on the water when they come to the shore. It’s one thing to be at a bar inland, but another level to enjoy a bar on the water. It gives you that shore feeling.”

The revamped menu includes more premium sandwich selections such as the pulled pork, filet tip and the crab cake sandwich in addition to its soups, salads, flatbreads and more. The menu is available at both locations, whether you are dining inside or outside.

“It’s a great menu, fast food, great entertainment, awesome service and a fun atmosphere,” Bennett says. “If you want to come somewhere to have fun in Sea Isle City, look no further, this is the place to come.”
